HCI holds successful Co-ordination Meeting in Tajikistan

Health Connections International (HCI) is pleased to report the successful completion of its annual Co-ordination Meeting for the ‘Health Connections Project’ in Tajikistan held on Tuesday, 15 June in Dushanbe. This meeting allowed HCI and its in-country partners and key stakeholders in Tajikistan to discuss progress on programme activities and future directions of HCI’s operations.

Meeting participants were jointly welcomed by HCI’s Director Mr Murdo Bijl and Secretary General of the Red Crescent National Society of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr Zafar Myhabbatov. Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Azamjon Mirzoev, was also present and officially confirmed the acceptance and adoption of the Declaration of Commitment towards the ‘Health Connections Project’ and applauded HCI’s efforts thus far. In addition, HCI’s Head of Medical Affairs Dr Benjamin Young provided a programme update on our progress and activities.

An open discussion provided all participants an opportunity to voice their thoughts on how to best ensure that HCI’s knowledge- and information-sharing platform (KISP) can best be integrated into the Tajik national healthcare system. This provided much guidance and insight for HCI on how best to address the needs of Tajik healthcare professionals and further meet our objective of strengthening the healthcare system across the country.

HCI would like to thank all those involved. In particular, we would like to once again extend our gratitude to our implementing partner, the Red Crescent National Society of Tajikistan, along with Deputy Minister of Health Dr Mirzoev, for their support of our efforts and for their continuing support in carrying out programme activities. We look forward to continuing our work together to strengthen healthcare system in the Republic of Tajikistan.
