HCI Honorary Advisory Board

As testament to the innovative character and much-needed efforts of HCI in strengthening healthcare systems as well as addressing global development issues, several high-profile individuals from the public and private sectors have signed on as Honorary Advisor Board members to HCI.

HCI thanks these individuals for joining us in our efforts and for advocating on behalf of HCI and our mission:

  • Dr. Wim van de Brink, Director of the Institute for Addiction Research, Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam
  • Dr. Jacques van der Gaag, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Econometrics, University of Amsterdam
  • Mr. Marcel Kramer, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Gasunie
  • Dr. Peter Piot, Former Executive Director of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and Director of the Institute for Global Health at Imperial College London
  • Dr. Elly Plooij, former Vice President of the European Parliament
  • Dr. Louk de la Rive Box, Rector, Institute of Social Studies and Professor of International Development Studies
  • Mr. Derk Sauer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Independent Media Sanoma Magazines
According to Dr. Louk de la Rive Box, ‘The ambition of HCI is to enable developing countries to strengthen their response to the rapidly developing HIV pandemic by linking technological innovation and development. Unless we make haste, most Millennium Development Goals will not be met by 2015. HCI brings a great deal of promise by enhancing the tempo in the much needed exchange of information and knowledge among health practitioners who need this most’.
